Course Description

The total 5 contact hours for this activity are divided into 4 hours in distinct topics on Infectious Diseases and a 1-hour session on Pharmacy law. The Infectious Diseases category will cover the following specific diseases: HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, MRSA, and Upper Respiratory Tract Infections. You will study the epidemiology of these diseases and learn to identify common pathogens responsible for these infections and you will learn to recommend appropriate therapy for these conditions. For HIV/AIDS you will learn about the health services updates to their guidelines; in the pharmacy law session, you will learn the most common laws that apply to your practice and the recent updates to pharmacy law in Connecticut, and, you will fulfill Connecticut State’s requirements for one1 hour of Pharmacy Law.

Credits

This program is accredited for 5 hours (0.50 CEUs) of Live CE Credit for pharmacists. You must attend the entire program and submit a completed Activity Evaluation Form to receive CE credit. Gateway International, LLC will mail Statement of CE credit to participants within 2 weeks following the completion of the Evaluation Form.
